On Saturday April 21st the University of Lethbridge and the University of Great Falls will come to town to battle each other and our hometown Flathead Rapids!  All the games will be played at Smith Field complex right next to North Valley Hospital!  Our amazing soccer community never has the chance to watch college level soccer, and now we are brining the experience to you!

90 minutes of action per game vs colleges in the top of their conferences!!

Welcome!

Welcome to the 3rd Annual Flathead Rapids 2012 Spring Soccer Academy. It is my pleasure to welcome your son and/or daughter to the program. On behalf of the academy coaches and Glacier United, we appreciate your registration and look forward to an exciting season.

The first session will be held Tuesday, April 17th 5:30pm at Smith Fields in Whitefish. The academy training field will be located in the far Southeast corner of the complex adjacent to the playground. The opening night will offer registration and check-in, distribution of gear (jersey, shorts, socks, and ball), brief program overview, as well as a meet and greet with the instructors. Following the meeting, academy players will train. This kick-off night format will be a nice starting point and preview of the season to come.

During the first week, academy players will receive a complimentary Parisi Speed School Demonstration from 6:30-7:00pm. Players will get to train with Parisi instructors and experience this cutting edge fitness training program. Parents are encouraged to attend and speak with their knowledgeable staff about their youth program that will run on Wednesday evenings throughout the spring season. More information and registration will be available following the demo.

After the first night, training sessions will be held at the regular schedule from April 19 - June 5, 2012 Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30pm to 7:00pm at Smith Fields in Whitefish. Players do not need to wear their academy jersey at each session because scrimmage vests will be provided. However, players must be properly equipped at all times; shorts, t-shirts, soccer socks, cleats, shinguards, ball, and water bottle.
The older academy players will compete in a few area wide jamborees against other academy teams. Currently the confirmed dates include: Whitefish on April 28 and May 5, and in Kalispell on May 19, 2012. Additional games and scrimmages will be scheduled throughout the season.

In addition, the Flathead Rapids Premier Team will be hosting a 3 game exhibition showcase event on Saturday, April 21 at Smith Fields against the University of Lethbridge and the University of Great Falls. The game schedule will be as follows… Rapids vs. Lethbridge at 10am, Great Falls vs. Lethbridge at 1:30pm, and Rapids vs. Great Falls at 5pm. We would love to have our academy players involved in the event. We invite every player to walk out onto the field with a Rapids player during the start of their games. If your son and/or daughter want to be a chaperone, please have them arrive to the fields 15 minutes before kick-off.

If poor weather conditions exist please have your son and/or daughter dress appropriately. I will send an email to the primary contact on file by noon on the day of the session if we need to cancel training due to adverse weather and field conditions. In addition, you can stay abreast of any updates and/or cancellations on our BLOG page: http://flatheadrapids.blogspot.com/

The Goal of the Academy Program is Player Development!

Thanks in advance and feel free to call me with any questions.
